  • I am both a homeschool graduate and a homeschooling mom with two students who have been enrolled at CORE Charter School since 2015. It has been an amazing experience to work with the teachers and staff at CORE these many years and to watch our kids thrive at this wonderful school. CORE's educational model surrounds both parents and their students with the resources and support necessary for them to flourish, both in academics and personal interests. I wholeheartedly believe that this personalized approach to schooling encourages the wonderful uniqueness of each child and creates well-rounded individuals with the potential to succeed and serve the communities where they live for years to come. I am honored and glad to serve as a parent member on this school board and look forward to supporting the students, parents, and faculty at CORE Charter School.

  • I am a local small business owner along with my wife of 25 years. Prior to opening our business, I worked in emergency services for 27 years. As an employer who has hired many students who have attended CORE, I can say first hand, the quality of students the school has produced. These individuals show respect and a very high work ethic. I have two children of my own who have attended CORE. One is currently a senior and another who is a graduate and now attending Sacramento State University. The personal learning experience CORE provides has the real opportunity to help our children become better prepared to enter the workforce and accomplished adults. It is my desire to support and encourage the prosperity of CORE.

  • After transitioning from an Executive Support Officer in the Air Force to a managerial role in automotive sales and a supervisor in the private sector for 25 years, my wife and I homeschooled both of our children, leading to my daughter's graduation from CORE Charter School in 2013. After moving to the Marysville/Yuba City area, I obtained teaching and administrative credentials, dedicating 18 years to education at a high school, focusing on student growth and character development. It has been my goal to utilize my past experiences in administration, discipline and teaching to help students in their growth and development as individuals. I also have had experience with at-risk students and kids with behavioral problems. I became a community board member where I can use my leadership skills to those with whom I come in contact. I have great passion for education, love for kids, and enjoy interacting with students of all ages as well as teachers and staff alike. I want to further CORE’s vision in helping graduating students with character, college ready and productive citizens.
